trustmark

TRUSTMARK

TrustMark is a quality mark which operates a framework under which 30 plus scheme operators work in the RMI (Repair, Maintenance and Improvement) sector, including trade associations, local government trading standards teams, and independent scheme operators. These schemes are approved to carry the TrustMark logo and recruit reputable and trustworthy tradesmen. This enables the TrustMark scheme operators to promote improved RMI sector standards, and tackle related issues such as better enforcement. All of these scheme operators are audited annually by TrustMark, to ensure processes, standards and complaint procedures are being maintained.

BUY WITH CONFIDENCE

In response to concerns about 'rogue traders' which are often highlighted in the media, a partnership of Local Authority Trading Standards Services have taken a groung-breaking step by putting together the Buy With Confidence Scheme. The scheme provides consumers with assurance that approved businesses have given their commitment to trading fairly. Every approved business has undergone a series of detailed checks before being approved, including a full audit of all trading practices, all staff members being CRB checked, along with 10 references from randomly selected previous/existing customers.
certass

Certass

Certass, is a Competent Person Scheme covering the installation of replacement windows, doors and associated glazing products in domestic properties, and is licenced by the Department for Communities and Local Government. Certass was established in 2006 and is dedicated to raising standards in the glazing industry. Membership of Certass enables contractors to self-certify installations as an alternative to submitting a building notice or using a local authority approved inspector.

QANW

Contractors registered with QANW are in the position of being able to "insurance back" their guarantees. This means that their guarantees are protected by an insurance policy, underwritten by an onshore, UK-based, FSA-registered insurer. In the event that the installer ceases to trade, and is unable to honour the terms of their written guarantee, the insurer (QANW) and its agents take the place of the contractor, and the policy of insurance takes the place of the written guarantee.
